What is the Test Day Schedule if You’re Taking the Computer IELTS Test?

When you book your test day with an IELTS test centre, you get all the instructions and the schedule for your test day. At Ampra IELTS Test Centre, you can book all four IELTS Tests on the same day. Our computer-delivered test schedules vary, depending on whether you booked a morning, afternoon or evening session. Check your email for full details. The computer-based IELTS test day schedule looks something like this:

  1. Check-in – Arrive 30-45 minutes before your scheduled start time, but do check the arrival time with your test centre. Check-in at reception when you arrive. A staff member will take a finger scan and photo. He or she will check your passport and ask you to remove your watch, jewellery, and put your belongings in a secure storage area. Note that as the pandemic is still there, you will be required to show proof of vaccination when visiting IELTS test centre. Do confirm with your test centre before the test day.
  2. Seat Assigned – The test centre staff will assign you a seat 5-15 minutes before your scheduled test time. However, do remember to keep your approved ID with you and bring it into your test room.
  3. 1st Test Begins – Which test will happen first will vary by session. At Ampra Test Centre in London, Ontario, we run morning, afternoon, and evening tests. If your IELTS Listening Test will start first, it will take 30 minutes. Type answers directly into the computer.
  4. 2nd Test Begins – The second IELTS test could be IELTS Reading Test. It will take 60 minutes. Type answers directly into the computer.
  5. 3rd Test Begins – IELTS Writing Test lasts for 60 minutes. Complete both writing tasks. There is no choice of questions. Read all the instructions for your writing tasks.
  6. 4th Test Begins – IELTS Speaking Test is of 20 minutes. You will have a face-to-face interview with an IELTS examiner. Check-in at least 30 minutes before your speaking test. You can schedule the Speaking Test on the same day or a different day.
